May I Remain

You've sown in my heart
seeds of everlasting.

Love unrestrained

poured down upon my weary soul, and

washed away the earthly sediments.

You scorched the thorny bristles,

removed the deadly pestilence.

Let your light shine down.

Let the soil give way.

Call the roots forth.

That I may remain in you.

Grow, flourish, and thrive in me.

Prune my unsightliness

until my righteousness springs forth.

Let the fruits of your labor be

beautiful, bountiful, and blessed.

May all who come under my canopy

find my foundation secure–

rooted, grounded, and established

in the sureness of your Love.
